isn't it unfair to teach children about Christianity before they learn about evolution or other beliefs?
Shouldn't a child have a fair chance to pick his or her belief?
By giving Christianity a head start, that's not fair
about me http://www.listentocharlie.comTrue or False? A child should not be taught about God until you can teach him evolution at the same time?
False. They should be taught science. Don't waste their time with fairy tails. To teach children Christianity will ensure the IQ of that generation to be 20pts or more lower than the previous. We need to end religion, it is weakening the country.True or False? A child should not be taught about God until you can teach him evolution at the same time?
Do some intense homework, and you'll find that science still regards evolution as a theory, not a fact, and that all attempts and experiments to prove it have failed in the worst fashion.
Parent's should teach their children what they believe to be true, and not make judgements about what other people are teaching their children. As the kids reach maturity, they'll make up their own minds, anyway.
I was raised as a preacher's kid, and believed in my young adulthood that I could never follow that line of belief. However, after exploring many other avenues of study, I finally came around to my personal belief in God and Creation.
Don't sweat the small stuff, its a waste of your time and energy.
FALSE!!!!!!!!
I agree
To teach a child anything it must be an adventure in order to keep there interests. Bible stories can be read just as easily as dinosaur stories and theoretical evolution. LIFE IS BUT IS NOT FAIR
In your previous question, I gave an answer that said something similar.
I believe children should be kept from religion until they are old enough to decide for themselves. They should be presented all religions and religious standpoints. Let them choose.
I think that a child should never learn about christianity. I only say this because of my experience with christians and because i was one. not a true christian is a sorry excuse, because i was one of those fundie types too.
I do think that if you had a bad experience with christians you should share that with your child instead. Also it whould be a good idea to give the child a book like the dark side of christian history so they wont be an easy prey for christian evangelists.
From the Christian perspective, part of our religious beliefs require us to teach our Children about God. There are many Christians, I am one of them, who do not see a conflict between Christianity and evolution.
Teaching a child about God does not make him or her a Christian. That is something they have to decide for themselves. I believe it is also important to teach children about science, art, math, history, and other religions. They can be taught that there are people who believe differently than we do. And, I think most young adults go through a period were they question, or at least re-examine their beliefs. I know I did, and the result was a strengthening of my Christian faith.
False. God should always come first. Even so, you could explain your views too and let the child decide.
I guess you missed the memo...so I'll tell you what it said....it said ';Life isn't fair! So get used to it!';
personally I agree with the other person, why lie to your children when you can tell them the truth, btw there is nothing wrong with the truth, it wont hurt them. be fair to your child and tell them the truth.
but since you want to be supposedly fair to them, then why stop at just evolution and Christianity, why not teach them Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, devil worship, etc. etc. etc. That would be supposedly ';fair';, that doesn't make it right though.
Since religion is a complete waste of time (no religious precept has any verifiable predictive power whatever), I would not (and in the case of my own children, did not) teach it at all. Evolution, however, is a well-established scientific theory (warning to cretins who claim that it's ';just a theory'; -- ';established'; means ';established as factual';) which must be understood if one is to have any understanding of how to attack questions such as what sort of drugs to develop or what may be the effects of using genetically-engineered crops.
Teaching your child the truth is the best thing you can do for them.It is the best gift you can give them.To teach them different things is confusing.I have always wanted my kids to be armed with the truth in this world.
Although I would prefer people not teach their children superstitions at all, I think it is their right as parents to do so. There's no such thing as 'fairness'.
You want fair? There's one in every county in the U.S., usually during the August/September time frame.
Now as far as your question goes, it's called ';parenting.'; Choosing what is best for YOUR child. Erma Bombeck had some witty insights on this:
I had the meanest parents in all the world. When I was seven years old they dared to spank me just because I told them I would not do what they asked me to do to help around the house. My friend next door never got spanked. He didn't have to help at home.
He had nice parents. I had the meanest parents. I had to eat all my broccoli and carrots before they would ever let me have dessert. My friend next door never had to eat vegetables. He had fast food brought in with burgers and shakes and brownies with all kinds of ice cream. I had the meanest parents.
They made me go to church every Sunday as long as I lived under their roof, sit there in that boring worship service. My friend next door could do as he pleased. He never went to church. Sunday was a fun day for him. I had the meanest parents.
They made me work for my allowance. I had to get a job helping an elderly old man with chores around his house. My friend next door never had to do anything and he was given four times as much allowance as I could ever earn. He had nice parents. I had the meanest parents.
When I turned sixteen, they made me earn points before I could drive the family car. My friend next door was given a brand new luxury automobile. My folks had bought an old jalopy for me to get back and forth to school, but you think I'd drive that hunk of junk and park it beside those Jeep Wagoneers, BMWs, Buicks and Mercedes?
My friend had it made. Or so I once thought, but, when we reached age thirty, I had a change in perspective. I had learned that my parents were not so mean after all. I was experiencing: the pleasure of work, the reward of recreation, the strength of a healthy body, the bonds of a strong marriage, the inward confidence that comes from faith and the wonderful supportive fellowship that comes from the Church as a community of believers.
As for my friend, things were not going so well: he was not finding his niche in the workplace, nothing seemed to satisfy him, he was having difficulty getting along with people who were not willing to do everything just as he thought he knew it ought to be done, his marriage had not lasted even two years, his body was getting out of shape, and he evidenced a cynical outlook without any under-girding that comes from the assurance of faith.
So, needless to say, my answer is ';FALSE.';
TRUE
False because nothing is more important that teaching a child about God.
How would it help a child to have taught him or her about the theory of evolution but not about God if that child suddenly dies? When we die, the only thing that will matter is our relationship with God.
evolution was created through God, so it would not be giving Christianity a head start. it would be explaining the unevitable. WOAH! i need to write that down (i wanna be a writer)
Every child should be taught about every religion or lack there of before they leave your house. Why? Because if you don't when they get out into the world they will be taking your beliefs with them, not their own. They need to make the decision for themselves (as the bible clearly states) and they need to be informed of all other religions first. Teach them young so as they get older they will have the opportunity to research every religion and figure out which one holds the most water if any. And how are you as a theist supposed to combat the theory's of evolution if you don't know anything about them!? That drives me nuts. They seem to think that their faith is all an atheist needs to see to believe and they can say ';I know creation is right because I believe'; not being told about other religions and not being explained the idea of evolution and being afraid to ask questions to my very Christian parents is the exact reason why now I am no longer one. Now I researched things myself and I know the truth.
why teach a falsehood then the truth about God. Just settle for the truth.
It is true
I agree. I think everyone should pick theyr own path to realise their Self. But children should be grown up in a auspicious and moral surrounding, and theyr parents should raise them like that
true i agree.
gimmee ten.
lol.
Forget religion, a child should be taught fact, not stories
Children should be taught what their parents wish them to be taught.
Teach them everything that is available, let them decide what is best for them. Teaching fantasy and mythology only teaches them that it is possible to weave intricate and facinating STORIES. It may teach something of english and literature but, it is not the textbook that some claim it to be.
I have and will continue to teach my boys how to think with an open objective mind that considers the evidence and then draw conclusions.
KLU
I wouldn't worry too much about this. Most kids rebel against their parents at some time in their lives. Even in totalitarian states kids rebel. Read about the 'edelweiss pirates' in Nazi Germany. They did some great things and some even died for it. What you say about Christianity may be true but its the way of the world. As a child I went to a church school and was in the church choir. Now I'm an atheist and find it difficult to understand how anyone can be religious.
They are children...they will believe what we as their parents teach them. They can always change their mind when they are grown up.
True. Teach them both and make sure that the child understands that those are two different theories.
This also makes you ask, shouldnt a child be taught EVERY religion to see which it prefers.
Its up to the parents (though I dont believe it should be) What religion the child is. I think its well and good for them to 'inform' but converting is wrong. If the child believes thats what they want, then they should be allowed into the religion, then they can chose to leave when their older if they wish.
This has turned into a debate about One view being true and one being false, even when the question was shouldnt they have a choice.
If Christians want to believe in God they can. If Muslims want to believe in Allah they can. If Atheists belive that science is the answer then they can.
I personally am an Atheist, my Parents are Christian (not strong though) So I found it easy to chose my own view. There are people I know who have VERY Strong Catholic parents and Catholosism has been passed down in their famly. During a Science lesson on Carbon Dating awhile back, this person Argued with the teacher about how he was telling Lies and how the world had not been around Millions of years. I think parents have effect that and because of the conditioning this person went through as a child they will always follow that belief. So, after my longwinded answer, I believe Parents should 'teach' like in RS lessons, not 'preach' like in church. Forcing a child to go to church and sunday school and stopping them from exploring other things is wrong.

If ';Prophesy'; in Matthew 7:22-23 means ';Teach'; then aren't ';False Prophets'; = ';False Teachers';?
Last night I posted a question regarding the meaning of the word ';Prophesised'; in Matt 7:22-23. Most of the people who have answered seem to understand the meaning of those verses as I do, that ';prophesy'; in that verse refers to teach.
Well if that is the case, doesn't that show that a prophet is not necessarily someone who foretells the future but also someone who is teaching the word of God? (I think ';YES';, a prophet is someone who is spreading the word of God Jehovah!)
If that then is the case, Matthew 24:11 ';And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many.'; also refers to those religions that teach erroneous doctrine and make erroneous conclusions based on the Bible. Does it not?
Further, Deuteronomy 18:22, also refers to those religions and proves them to be false prophets.
Please do correct me in my viewing if I'm wrong...If ';Prophesy'; in Matthew 7:22-23 means ';Teach'; then aren't ';False Prophets'; = ';False Teachers';?
God has asked us not to try to predict when is the time of Jesus' return. The Watchtower has done that many times and now they even have the outrageous claim that Jesus already returned in 1914 INVISIBLY. This is doing of the false teachers!If ';Prophesy'; in Matthew 7:22-23 means ';Teach'; then aren't ';False Prophets'; = ';False Teachers';?
You appear to be correct and a true prophet is someone who spreads the words of Jesus.
I don't see any need for correction here; you're on the right track.
.
Yes, a false prophet is also a false teacher.
Interestingly, Jehovah's Witnesses apply the term ';prophet'; only in a very limited sense to themselves as a religion, not to individuals. The Scriptures indicate that whenever Jehovah purposes to execute judgment upon a people, he always makes arrangement for a 'prophet's work' as a warning. Their self-description as a ';prophet'; (in this limited sense) does not indicate special inspired knowledge or foreknowledge, but their willingness to perform Christ's assigned warning work in our day leading up to Armageddon.
What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally (as Noah did before the Deluge)?
.. ..(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.
.. ..(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
.. ..(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
The Biblical gift of prophesy includes expounding/teaching the Bible and foretelling future events. It doesn't have to be both every time, and more often it is expounding from the Bible.
Yes you are correct.
Jesus warned us that “false Christs and false prophets” will come and will attempt to deceive even God’s elect (Matthew 24:23-27; see also 2 Peter 3:3 and Jude 17-18). To best guard yourself against falsehood and false teachers - know the truth. To spot a counterfeit, study the real thing. Any believer who is, “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15), and who makes a careful study of the Bible, can identify false doctrine. For example, a believer who has read the activities of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17 will immediately question any doctrine that denies the Trinity.
Yes. False teachers indeed!
The word ';prophesied'; in Mat. 7:22 means to foretell, to speak under inspiration, or to exercise the prophetic office. So to say that prophesy in that verse refers to teaching is not entirely accurate. However, having said that, we need to keep that particular word in that verse in context with the rest of the verse and passage, and with the rest of the scriptures. When we do this we understand that Jesus is referring to false prophets, false apostles, false preachers, false teachers, etc.
You are correct in believing that this applies to those who do not preach/teach the word of God correctly. Paul warned the church at Galatia about those who preach another gospel contrary to what he had already preached/taught to them (Galatians 1:6-12). In fact he said to let them be accursed. There is only one way, one truth, one foundation. That is the word of God, not men's interpretations of it or their misguided doctrines because they pulled Scripture out of context.
Jesus gave the apostles the doctrine that they should preach (Luke 24:44-49), and we see in the book of Acts that the believers continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine, and in prayers, etc. The apostle Paul wrote that, as a wise master builder, he laid the foundation for the Corinthians that they should build upon. There is no other foundation, because that foundation is Jesus Christ and the word of God (1Corinthians 3:10-11, acts 4:8-12, 1Peter 2:4-8, Ephesians 2:18-22, Matthew 7:24-29). A false prophet/teacher will not lay the same foundation or build completely upon that foundation that is already laid.
One other thing about false teachers, or those who hold to a different doctrine; we are not to receive them into our houses nor bid them God speed (blessings, peace, be well). If we do, then we are share in their evil works/actions/occupation (2John 1:9-11).
Well if that is the case, doesn't that show that a prophet is not necessarily someone who foretells the future but also someone who is teaching the word of God? (I think ';YES';, a prophet is someone who is spreading the word of God Jehovah!)

Christians, Misinformation No. 11 - ';Jesus Taught Tithing'; True of false ?
It is said that Jesus taught tithing. If so, to whom did he teach it ?Christians, Misinformation No. 11 - ';Jesus Taught Tithing'; True of false ?
News to me - but the Law was of course kept perfectly by Him and thus was fulfilled in Him. If tithing is in the Law then He affirmed it. ';Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto God the things that are God's.';Christians, Misinformation No. 11 - ';Jesus Taught Tithing'; True of false ?
No.
He did tithe though. He followed the Law perfectly.
But it is not a requirement of the christian.
Church leaders misapply the verses concerning generosity to get their sheep to tithe.
yes, Jesus did teach about tithing, there was a group of people that try to trick Jesus, Concerning taxes, %26amp; if you know how to read it correctly, we don't pay taxes to God. Read St. Matt.22:21 Jesus said to give unto Ceasar's what is Ceasar's %26amp; unto God what is God, Taxes unto Ceasar's %26amp; tithing unto God.
Already asked and answered. Do a search on this form for more about tithing. It's asked and ridiculed so much. Research this site before you ask any questions. The answers could be there and you just didn't do your homework first.
Blessing.
It was directed in OT...In NT there is no command to tithe a tenth since we are not under law but grace
Jesus says render therefore to caesar what is caesars and to God what is Gods.
Also,we cannot ignore the old testament as Jesus quoted from it quite a bit.
Twice the scriptures quote Jesus as supporting tithing. He told the proud pharisees who publicly did their offerings. Let me quote Luke 11:42:
';But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.';
Tithing was before the law of Moses. You find Jacob promising a tenth to God, and Abram paid tithe to Melchizedek, too.
God has commanded, ';Thou shalt not steal';, and according to the New Testament, those who preach the Gospel should live from it.
Yes, if everything you have is put into God's hands, you will receive 100 times more, and eternal life. Don't believe me? Well, ask my wife, we live in Paradise now, and have never stinted the Lord.

True/false the troy female seminary taught subjects considered siutable only for boys?
False, those were the Spartans.
Why do anti-Catholics bear false witness by making false claims about what the Catholic Church teaches?
I married a Protestant, son of a Pastor actually. He told me some things about the Catholic Church that I had no idea about. I, a cradle Catholic, stopped going to Catholic Church... Then we had kids and I just felt the need to baptize them in the Catholic Church. We had to meet with the Priest. After talking to him, my husband began deep study of the Church...Guess what? He became a Catholic last Easter. All the things he was told....wrong, misinterpreted or lies.
I really don't think people bear false witness on purpose, I was ignorant (needed more than CCD to learn the catechism) others are just plain lazy and just believe what they are told. Most people are sheep and just go with the flow.
My brother in Christ, thebrean, please educate yourself on Catholic teachings. Peace and God Bless. Our Savior has risen, Alleluia! Happy Easter.Why do anti-Catholics bear false witness by making false claims about what the Catholic Church teaches?
I'm not ';anti-Catholic'; and I do believe that there are Christians in every church - not just contained to the Catholic church. I have Catholic friends and do not attempt to change them nor do I argue religion with them. I let go and let God work with people, by staying out of the way !Why do anti-Catholics bear false witness by making false claims about what the Catholic Church teaches?
Becuse it is in error! we need to expose them. I call it the worlds church.
Ignorance. At least, that was why I used to do it. Once I studied up on Catholicism I quit fighting it. (and joined up as soon as I could!)
Because if they admitted the truth of the Catholic Church, there would be no way to justify the founding, or the continuing existence of their own.
';Anti-Catholics';....is that a new sect?;)...There's no such thing as ';anti-Catholicism';; so, there's no point in your question.
it's simple... they want to let us believe that everything is false and nothing else... they want us to believe that the teachings of the Church are wrong and are against what had Jesus had actually said.
as the Bible says: Every sin and insult will be forgiven but every sin and insult against the Holy Spirit will be unforgiven...
hope that helps you out...
hitsuzen
Because they're uneducated. I'm a practicing Protestant Christian, and I have found that I am able to fellowship with Catholics because I am convinced that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Catholics have some things wrong, and so do Protestants. This is why we need grace.
Simple misunderstanding on their part. To many people willing to listen to someone other than an expert in the field (like asking your mechanic to perform brain surgery).
Archbishop Fulton Sheen once said ';There are not over a 100 people in the U.S. that hate the Catholic Church, there are millions however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church'; and I think that is correct.
Peace be with you.
For most it is a lack of under standing of just who Catholics are. For the others it is just hate.
it's that old argument: ';My God is better than your God';
What exactly is an anti-Catholic?
Well lets see, They teach that the Pope is Christs representive on Earth (FALSE)----They teach that Tradition %26amp; the Teaching Arm of the Church (Magisterium) is on an equil par with Scripture (FALSE),----They teach that, You must confess your sins to a ';priest'; (FALSE), ----I could go on and on with their UNBIBLICAL teachings, but I think you get the point. And by the way, I am NOT anti-Catholic PEOPLE, Just anti-FALSE doctrine. The Roman Catholic Church is an APOSTATE church (though there are some real christians in it) and has been for the last thousand years......theBerean
So bungyow, are you saying that people judge us by our actions?In doing so, they are not judging as God does, by what is in the heart, but rather by appearances (see Jn 8:15, Is 11:3).
God bless,
Stanbo
it is known that the chatholic church does bear false witness - Just look at the passage about not calling anyone elese father as a title and they believe in the holy trinity - jesus is gods son, they are not one person - the bible clearly states that.
If you poison the waters of the competing villages, the people will surely flock to yours.
Typical fundamentalist thinking.
I'm not sure why they would do that, hear are some ideas. I think it may be because they are profiting in some way by useing slander. There may be people who really think the things they are saying are ture. Or maybe they had a bad experience and are seeking revenge. All religions seem to have that problem. People spred slander and make falce claims about my religion also, some of the things they say are compleatly made up, or as I have most often found come from sources which are extreemly bias.
Well, that is a great question. However when judgements are made about anyone it goes against what the bible teaches. They say judge not...lest ye be judged...There are too many stones being thrown by too many sinners today. That is where the true problems lie.
This site is full of judgements of anyone who believes in anything. There are more variances of people and too little tolerance/acceptance. In religion, race, status, politics, foods, sex, marriage...there are alwaysgoing to be conflicting views that judge the others beliefs to be wrong.
Acceptance, tolerance, and love of humanity is truly what should take precedence. When we accept our differences and tolerate the differences, focus on our commonalities, then and only then the love can shine through. Will that happen? That is the question. What do you think?
Because the Catholics by their own actions bring on them selves.
I really don't think people bear false witness on purpose, I was ignorant (needed more than CCD to learn the catechism) others are just plain lazy and just believe what they are told. Most people are sheep and just go with the flow.

For the others it is just hate.
it's that old argument: ';My God is better than your God';
I heard about a false doctrine that some people were created by satan without a soul. WHo teaches this?
Prove that it's false.I heard about a false doctrine that some people were created by satan without a soul. WHo teaches this?
Ignorant and clueless people who provably try to take advantage of others for their own selfish purposes teach this nonsense.
All souls belong to God:
Eze 18:3 [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have [occasion] any more to use this proverb in Israel.
Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.I heard about a false doctrine that some people were created by satan without a soul. WHo teaches this?
I teach that some people were born without a psyche, or qualia. But that has nothing to do with god or satan.
It's just that some people have pure deterministic brains only, and no consciousness that reflects on what they're thinking
Maybe the ';Church of Satan';.
Irresponsible fools

Dismantling the Moongod Theory
This short article is a response to a recent development amongst the attackers of Islam..........the unfounded theory that ';Allah'; does not refer to the One True God, but rather to a pagan diety. I will not even point out the web pages that purport this lunacy. Instead, below you will find references to the Noble Qur'an and the words of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
I have to first start off with a few definitions. First, ';Allah'; is the Arabic word which denotes the One True God, the One Who created the heavens and the earth.
Now this word is very unique in the Arabic language because it has no plural of number and no gender. So, in English the word ';god'; can becomes ';gods'; or ';goddess';. If you say ';goddess';, then you imply that ';god'; is masculine. Well, Allah is neither male nor female. And most importantly, Allah is One. (If you were to read the Qur'an you would come across verses which say ';We created...'; That ';We'; is a plural of respect, not number. Just like speaking Spanish or Italian you address elders in the plural for respect.)
Another important point is that Christians who speak Arabic refer to God as Allah and Rabb (Lord) just as Muslims do. So, for a Christian web site to say that Muslims worship Allah, the ancient moongod is preposterous. They might as well tell their Christian brothers and sisters who speak Arabic that they are worshipping the moongod too.
The most powerful denial of this weak claim is the Qur'an itself:
The Qur'an is the literal word of Allah (or God) revealed to Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel (peace be upon both of them). The Qur'an is clear that Allah, Alone, is to be worshipped:
41:36 And if (at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things.
37 Among His Signs are the Night and the Day and the sun and moon. ADORE NOT THE SUN AND THE MOON BUT ADORE ALLAH WHO CREATED THEM if it is Him ye wish to serve.
38 But if they (Unbelievers) are arrogant (no matter): for in the presence of thy Lord are those who celebrate His praises by night and by day. And they never flag (nor feel themselves above it).
Actually, I probably could have just published this verse. It doesn't get any clearer than this. Allah is the Creator, and we are not permitted to worship any element of creation.
In the Qur'an, Allah describes the moon as submitting to Allah's Law. That is, the moon follows a course exactly computed, according to the Law of Allah:
31:26 To Allah belong all things in heaven and earth: verily Allah is He (that is)free of all wants worthy of all praise.
27 And if all the trees on earth were pens and the Ocean (were ink) with seven Oceans behind it to add to its (supply)yet would not the Words of Allah be exhausted (in the writing): for Allah is Exalted in power Full of Wisdom.
28 And your creation or your resurrection is in no wise but as an individual soul: for Allah is He Who hears and sees (all things).
29 Seest thou not that Allah merges Night into Day and He merges Day into Night; that HE HAS SUBJECTED THE SUN AND THE MOON TO HIS LAW each running its course for a term appointed: and that Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do?
30 That is because Allah is the (only) Reality and because whatever else they invoke besides Him is Falsehood; and because Allah He is the Most High Most Great.
35:13 He merges Night into Day and He merges Day into Night and HE HAS SUBJECTED THE SUN AND THE MOON TO HIS LAW: EACH ONE RUNS ITS COURSE FOR AN APPOINTED TERM. Such is Allah your Lord: to Him belongs all Dominion. And those whom ye invoke besides Him have not the least power.
14 If ye invoke them they will not listen to your call and if they were to listen they cannot answer your (prayer). On the Day of Judgement they will reject your ';Partnership.'; And none (O man!) can tell thee (the Truth) like the One Who is acquainted with all things.
So, if the moon is subjected to the Law of Allah then how is it that Muslims worship the moongod. Wouldn't it only make sense to worship the One who created and subjected the moon, rather than the moon itself? You see, whoever created that web page is not after the Truth, they are just attempting to stop people from becoming Muslim. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the US and in the world, despite these feeble attempts (this includes the propaganda concerning women, the persecution of Christians, and terrorism.....the people who are accepting Islam in greatest numbers are women.....and the religion from which most converts come is Christianity). Anyway, back to the moongod:
36:37 And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day and behold they are plunged in darkness;
38 And the Sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him) the exalted in Might the All-Knowing.
39 And the Moon We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of date-stalk.
40 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon nor can the Night outstrip the Day: each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).
14:32 It is Allah Who hath created the heavens and the earth and sendeth down rain from the skies and with it bringeth out fruits wherewith to feed you; it is He Who hath made the ships subject to you that they may sail through the sea by His command; and the rivers (also) hath He made subject to you.
33 And He hath made SUBJECT TO YOU THE SUN AND THE MOON both diligently pursuing their courses: and the Night and the Day hath He (also) made subject to you.
34 And He giveth you of all that ye ask for. But if ye count the favors of Allah never will ye be able to number them: verily man is given up to injustice and ingratitude.
How is it that the moon is ';subjected to us';, mere humans? The moon and the sun are how we formed and measured our concept of time. The word ';month'; derived from the word ';moon'; (moonth). We measure a year by one revolution around the sun, etc. Now why would Muslims worship something Allah created for our use? See the next verse....
10:5 It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty) and measured out stages for her: that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain his Signs in detail for those who understand.
13:2 Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His law)! each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate affairs explaining the Signs in detail that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
14:33 And He hath made subject to you the sun and the moon both diligently pursuing their courses: and the Night and the Day hath He (also) made subject to you.
Now, Muslims not only refer to the Qur'an for guidance, but we look to the sayings of Muahammad and his disciples/companions to find out how he lived his life. These sayings are preserved in hundreds of volumes. Here is one where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is described as being more beautiful than the moon. How can this be if he taught his followers to worship the moon. If he was more beautiful than the object of their worship, then they would have worshipped him. This however, is a huge sin in Islam. No man, in fact no element of creation, can be worshipped. This includes Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon both of them).
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5794 Narrated by Jabir ibn Samurah I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) on a cloudless night and began to look at Allah's Messenger and at the moon. He was wearing a red robe, and he appeared more beautiful than the moon to me. Tirmidhi and Darimi transmitted it.
The moon is a creation of Allah:
16:12 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the Sun and the Moon; and the Stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.
13 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colors (and qualities): verily in this is a Sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).
6 Verily in the alternation of the Night and the Day and in all that Allah hath created in the heavens and the earth are Signs for those who fear Him.
7 Those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present and those who heed not Our Signs
8 Their abode is the Fire because of the (evil) they earned.
6:95 It is Allah Who causeth the seed-grain and the date-stone to split and sprout. He causeth the living to issue from the dead and He is the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is Allah; then how are ye deluded away from the truth?
96 He it is that cleaveth the daybreak (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): such is the judgment and ordering of (Him) the Exalted in Power the Omniscient.
97 It is He Who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you that ye may guide yourselves with their help through the dark spaces of land and sea: We detail Our Signs for people who know.
25:61 Blessed is He Who made Constellations in the skies and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light;
62 And it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for such as have the will to celebrate His praises or to show their gratitude.
63 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant address them they say ';Peace!';
7:54Your guardian-Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He draweth the night as a veil O'er the day each seeking the other in rapid succession: He created the sun the moon and the stars (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds!
Abraham (peace be upon him) rejects moon worship in the Qur鈥檃n:
6:74 Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: ';Takest thou idols for gods? for I see thee and thy people in manifest error.';
75 So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth that he might (with understanding) have certitude.
76 When the night covered him over he saw a star: he said: ';this is my Lord.'; But when it set he said: ';I love not those that set.';
77 When he saw the moon rising in splendor He said: ';This is my Lord.'; but when the moon set he said: ';Unless my Lord guide me I shall surely be among those who go astray.';
78 When he saw the sun rising in splendor he said: ';This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all).'; But when the sun set he said: ';O my people! I am (now) free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.
79 ';For me I have set my face firmly and truly toward Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah.';
Also, the moon will be destroyed on the Day of Judgement:
75:5 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.
6 He questions: ';When is the Day of Resurrection?';
7 At length when the Sight is dazed
8 And the moon is buried in darkness.
9 And the sun and moon are joined together
10 That Day will Man say ';Where is the refuge?';
11 By no means! No place of safety!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.422 Narrated by Abu Huraira The Prophet said, ';The sun and the moon will be folded up (deprived of their light) on the Day of Resurrection.';
Not only is it important to note that the Allah will destroy the moon on the Day of Judgement, but the worshippers of the moongod did not believe in a Judgement Day or Resurrection.
And lastly, when the moon eclipsed on the day of the death of the Prophet鈥檚 son, the Prophet (peace be upon him) denied that it happened for his sake:
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.424 Narrated by Abdullah bin Abbas The Prophet said, ';The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So, if you see them (i.e. eclipse), celebrate the Praises of Allah (i.e. pray).';
To sum up: Allah is the One, True God, the Creator. Muslims worship the Creator, not creation.Did Christ taught you to propagate false propagandas?
Blah Blah Blah no religion is better than the other you all think you are right, nobody is right but nobody is wrong. get over it there are so many belifes in this world.Did Christ taught you to propagate false propagandas?
That's absolutely right. All that 'moon god' stuff is pure bunk. Allah is the same old jealous, petty, capricious, mass-murdering psychopathic Abrahamic diety of desert monotheism that is described in the Old Testament... Yahweh... Jehovah... whatever.
Christians seem to think that around 2,000 years ago, this diety developed some kind of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), in which he manifested a hippie-like personality (Jesus... spent some time on earth... now can be eaten in the form of a cracker), and some Casper the Ghost-like character with pedophilic tendencies (suspected of having impregnated a 12 or 13 year-old virgin... and being honored for it).
The Moslems, however, do not share that belief; they see him as his same-old psychopathic self, essentially unchanged since his old-testament days... except that he seems to have updated his reward system about 1,500 years ago, when he started handing over virgins (in heaven) to be defiled by insane zealots, as a show of gratitude for them having carried out mass-murder and killing themselves in his name. (I think that's what happens to Catholic nuns, after they die. Where else would they find enough virgins?)
Sweet.
I find him very interesting to note that most Christians... including Christian preachers... haven't got the slightest clue about the historical roots of their own religion, let alone any other religion.
Wow!! If your English translation is any indication... it is no wonder Islamists don't want the Qur'an to be read in any foriegn language!
whynotaskdon just got bummed.
(I hired a Church rapist)
Sorry but you could believe in GOD all you want,But if you don't believe that Jesus died for the sins of everyone in the world, and was Gods Only begotten Son then,you will not Get the keys to get into heaven,For it is through the Son, Jesus that we are saved.....GOD gave the power of Judgement over the whole Earth to The Son JESUS.....So Jesus is our only hope.....NOW
you lost me in the first foot of your question. what was it again? did christ lie?? i think not. me thinks the disease of man be the culpret
Do you really expect me to read that? instead of trying to influence people on a web site why dont you go ++++ your wrists
I am a christian and I think you are right to question any web sight that would say that you worship a different god. I never once thought that Allah was not the one true creator. But not all Christians are like me. A lot only know what they are told by the church. I am truly glad that you are telling the truth the way you are. After all we are all sons of Abraham. Thank you!
What?
Islam is monotheistic, but was created by Mohammed in or around 625 AD.
Jesus the Messiah fulfilled the Judaic Covenant with His total act of self-sacrifice once and for all. Including Muslims, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostics, Humanist, and Christians.
ummm........maybe?
1) allah comes from the sumerian moon god
2) your religion is barbaric and based on lies and a pedophile prophet.
3) learn to spell
4) Islam facism is causing most of the world's problems today.
How about we see some quran verses?
When the sacred months have passed away, THEN SLAY THE IDOLATERS WHEREVER YOU FIND THEM, AND TAKE THEM CAPTIVES AND BESIEGE THEM AND LIE IN WAIT FOR THEM IN EVERY AMBUSH, then if they repent and keep up prayer [become believers] and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them (9:5)
And if they intend to act unfaithfully towards you, so indeed they acted unfaithfully towards Allah before, but He GAVE YOU MASTERY OVER THEM (8:71)
FIGHT THEM: ALLAH WILL PUNISH THEM BY YOUR HANDS AND BRING THEM TO DISGRACE, AND ASSIST YOU AGAINST THEM. (9:14)
FIGHT THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN ALLAH, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, NOR FOLLOW THE RELIGION OF TRUTH, OUT OF THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE BOOK [Christians and Jews], until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and THEY ARE IN A STATE OF SUBJECTION. (9:29)
As opposed to Jesus:
';But I say to you, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Be merciful as your Father is merciful. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.'; Jesus, SON of God
If you want anyone to read it, keep it to five sentences. Beyond that, it becomes gobbledygook.
Sorry, you kept my attention for about the first paragraph but lost me after that. Your diatribe is just TOO long for this forum.
It's amazing, when you read the Qur'an and the bible, they seem like two versions of the same book, or rather that the bible is a ';cliffs notes'; of the Qur'an.. hmm... maybe I should study this further... Oh, and by the way, the christans can be hateful to all religions.. they have been burning my people for centuries.
I'll go with Swedenborg's Christian theology.

13 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colors (and qualities): verily in this is a Sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).
25:61 Blessed is He Who made Constellations in the skies and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light;
62 And it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for such as have the will to celebrate His praises or to show their gratitude.
63 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant address them they say ';Peace!';
6:74 Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: ';Takest thou idols for gods? for I see thee and thy people in manifest error.';
75 So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth that he might (with understanding) have certitude.
76 When the night covered him over he saw a star: he said: ';this is my Lord.'; But when it set he said: ';I love not those that set.';
77 When he saw the moon rising in splendor He said: ';This is my Lord.'; but when the moon set he said: ';Unless my Lord guide me I shall surely be among those who go astray.';
78 When he saw the sun rising in splendor he said: ';This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all).'; But when the sun set he said: ';O my people! I am (now) free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.
79 ';For me I have set my face firmly and truly toward Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah.';
Also, the moon will be destroyed on the Day of Judgement:
75:5 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.
6 He questions: ';When is the Day of Resurrection?';
7 At length when the Sight is dazed
8 And the moon is buried in darkness.
9 And the sun and moon are joined together
10 That Day will Man say ';Where is the refuge?';
11 By no means! No place of safety!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.422 Narrated by Abu Huraira The Prophet said, ';The sun and the moon will be folded up (deprived of their light) on the Day of Resurrection.';
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.424 Narrated by Abdullah bin Abbas The Prophet said, ';The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So, if you see them (i.e. eclipse), celebrate the Praises of Allah (i.e. pray).';
