Why do some false teachers teach that the OC law applies to Christians?

I guess they just can't understand that you cannot be held to the conditions of a covenant they were not a party to, and a covenant that ended. I guess they prefer the ministration of death and condemnation instead of the new covenant ministration of life.Why do some false teachers teach that the OC law applies to Christians?
';They'; are still 'blind' and don't 'see' just as Jesus said to the 'pharisees'!!Why do some false teachers teach that the OC law applies to Christians?
Here's a guess, though this is just my opinion.

Jesus begins a new covenant, and He specifically counters some of the traditions that were maintained in the old covenant...

IE: ';Turn the other cheek'; instead of ';An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth';, and ';What goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean, but what proceeds out of his mouth'; instead of a restricted (kosher) diet.

He also maintains some of the standards from the first covenant...

IE: The Ten Commandments, the scriptures of the Old Testament - which He reads from in the synagogues on Sabbath Days.

The first covenant contains a very detailed description of how a devout follower of God should live his/her life. Jesus brings a new covenant which changes some of these standards, but maintains others. He does not cover every aspect of the old covenant, so we are left without specific instruction where some of the old covenant practices are concerned.

In many ways, this issue has created the many denominations of Christianity.

Again, this is only my opinion.
remember Jesus did not come to do away with the O.T. law, he came to fulfill it.

after all authority was given however he changed a few of the Unclean beasts rules. with the vision to peter. in acts 10

ONe must also remember the New testament bible was not formed until after 300 ad. which means the sole source of the letters and epistles of peter james and john and Paul were the old testament.

Jesus did condemn the fables and the Leaven of the pharisees, which proves that false prophets and false high priests and pharisees make up their own doctrines and are NOT to be considered the commandments of God.
Matthew 5:17-18

17';Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Jesus fulfilled the law.

Romans 10:

4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Eph 2:

15by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
It's a pride thing.

It's like saying that I kept the Law, now God owes me.

It doesn't take into account that ';you are saved by grace, through faith. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast';.

';Then where is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the works of the Law.'; (Rom 3:27-28 MKJV)

and

';Therefore I have boasting in Christ Jesus as to the things pertaining to God.'; (Rom 15:17 MKJV)

and finally,

';though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other thinks that he has reason to trust in the flesh, I more. I was circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews. As regards the Law, I was a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; regarding the righteousness in the Law, blameless. But whatever things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ and be found in Him; not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God by faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable to His death; if by any means I might attain to the resurrection of the dead.'; (Php 3:4-11 MKJV)

Jesus didn't come to abolish the Old Testament Law; but rather Jesus came

to fulfil the Old Testament Law
Mal 3:6 For I [am] the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hbr 13:8 Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, today, and forever
Psa 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Thy law is truth.

Psa 119:29 Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Thy law.

Psa 119:151 Thou art near, O LORD, And all Thy commandments are truth.

2 Pet 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

2 Pet 2:2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;

Isa 51:7 ';Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of man, Neither be dismayed at their revilings.

Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.

The gentile nation of Nineveh:

%26gt; Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

Jonah 1:2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. ...

%26gt; Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. ...

%26gt; Jonah 3:8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Jonah 3:9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. ...

%26gt; Mat 12:41 ';The men of Nineveh shall stand up with this generation at the judgment, and shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

%26gt; Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, ';Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.';

LORD = YHVH, not the Greek name ';Jesus';:

Rom 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him;

Rom 10:13 for ';WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD [YHVH] WILL BE SAVED.';

Joel 2:32 ';And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD [YHVH] Will be delivered; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem There will be those who escape, As the LORD [YHVH] has said, Even among the survivors whom the LORD [YHVH] calls.

Psa 119:55 O LORD [YHVH], I remember Thy name in the night, And keep Thy law.

Psa 112:1 Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD [YHVH], Who greatly delights in His commandments.

Psa 119:166 I hope for Thy salvation, O LORD [YHVH], And do Thy commandments.
