Why Catholic Teaching are false?

The catholic church allows us to pray to statues but the Bible teaches us it is sin. In Exodus 20:3-5 it reads ';You shall have no other gods before Me.You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me.'; This simply states you only pray to God and no one else. It is also a sin to pray to anyone or anything in an attempt to influence God. ';For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus'; -1st Timothy 2:5

The Catholic also teaches that are sins are only forgive through confession to a priest. That is also false. Because Jesus have died for our Sins and we are able to have a relationship with God and confess are sins to him and ask forgiveness. Why should i confess my sins to another Sinner. The priest is a sinner just like you and me, believe it or not for the Bible says in Roman 3:23 '; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.';

The catholic church also tells us to pray to the rosary. You will not find that in Scripture

Another thing, Catholics call the priest father when in the Bible it teaches us not to. We read in Matthew 23:9 ';And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.';

Also Catholic believe in Purgatory which is also false. By believing in that, you are saying Christ death on the cross was not Sufficient enough to save us from our sins. The whole point of him coming down was to drink the wrath of God, which we deserve to drink but Jesus drank every zip. His death was good enough for God and its because the death of Christ, those who have faith in him and repent from there sins are save. I already know some of your defense already but it tell you to understand what your defense is before you send it because Catholic teaching misinterprets the Bible greatly

I know many Catholics are reading this and you have became angry and probably going to complain to Yahoo and I'm hear to tell you i understand. I was catholic for 25 years. Most Catholics like myself are raised to be Catholics not knowing truth. I tell you this because I do love you and to tell you Catholic teaching is false and its unchristian. I'm not hear trying to convert you because there nothing i can say that can convert you for true conversion comes from a Super Natural Work of God. But what I'm hear to tell you is seek words of God in the Bible. God BlessWhy Catholic Teaching are false?
Praise the Lord!!! Amen Brother Jake!!

I thank God for delivering you from the kingdom of darkness and translating you to the kingdom of His dear Son. Bless the Lord for having mercy on you. He could have left you in darkness, in spiritual ignorance and spiritual blindness but you are one of the elect, chosen by God for salvation. Those 25 years were training my brother, training, so the Lord can use you as a vessel of honor fit for His use the way He used the Apostle Paul in Acts 26:17-18; I will deliver you from the Catholic people, as well as from the unbelievers, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

I don't know how long you have been a true Christian but welcome to the family of God.

Sola scriptura

Sola fide

Sola gratia

Solus Christus

Soli Deo gloriaWhy Catholic Teaching are false?
Catholic teachings are false because it's a form of Christianity and Christianity is a religion.
Jake!!! Jake!!! Did Chris went into your brain???
Get a life, pleaaaase!
Um, is there a question in there, or have you bothered to read Y!A's terms of service?
I agree with you - most Catholic teachings are not based on Scripture, but on paganism. Other unscriptural Catholic teachings/traditions are:

1. Infant baptism

2. baptism by sprinkling

3.State of the dead and immortality

4. Prayers to the dead and relics

5. Repetitive prayer and human forgiveness of sins

6. The nature of ';Hell';

7. Indulgences

8. Mass - Omission of the cup

9. Sunday worship

10. Prohibition of Scripture (Pope Paul IV - 1599)

11. Futurism

12. Preterism

13. Higher Criticism

14. Immaculate Conception of Mary

15. Assumption of Mary

16. Come to Christ through Mary

17. Priests celibate and tonsured, like pagan priests of Cybel
They're not.

God commanded Moses and Aaron to carve angels on top of the Arc of the Covenant. So making representations of people who are alive in Christ is not a sin, nor does it break the commands of God. In fact, if you would follow your way of thought, the Statue of Liberty and the Statue of Lincoln should be thrown down.

The Prayers of the rosary are all from scripture. people used to use the psalmistry to keep track of which psalm they were on, and through time, it became the rosary (150 beads/prayers)

We call priests ';father'; because they deserve to be called that. When Jesus was talking about ';call no man father'; he meant to emphasize how important and CLOSE God is to us, and how much God love us. People back then treated God with very much distance. Jesus was trying to let them know that God is as close as your own father.

Purgatory is outlined in the NT in 1Cor 3 13 Every man's work shall be manifest. For the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire. And the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

We DO believe that Christ's death on the cross was once and for all.

I am not angry.

Are you?
I used to be catholic too, but then found out that the teachings were not Biblical. It really has to do with whether or not God's Word is the final authority or not. I'm going to get voted down, but oh well. Praise God for showing you and I the truth and saving us. We can't get any credit for it. Praise and glory be to God alone. May God open the eyes and hearts of many more.
%26gt;%26gt;The Catholic also teaches that are sins are only forgive through confession to a priest.%26lt;%26lt;

False. Venial sins can be forgiven outside sacramental confession (CCC 1452, 1458), as well as mortal sins with perfect contrition and the intent to go to sacramental confession (1452).

You'd think someone who was Catholic for 25 years would know that. Then again, if you really knew Catholicism, you wouldn't have left.

Yeah...the top half of your post is flat out false, and the bottom half is based upon your interpretation of the scripture verses supplied. We interpret them quite differently.

If you're going to criticize the Catholic Church, at least try to get our teachings right. Your post basically criticizes a non-existent religion.

No wonder you left the Church. I would have too had I thought those were our beliefs. Luckily they are not. Having been a Catholic does not make you an expert. Heck, depending on how you were raised, you might not know a darn thing about the Church. I worked with a 40 year old once. He was Catholic all his life, yet didn't know what a scapular was. Had never seen one before. So don't make claims to expertise because you used to be one of us.

If you want us to convert, you might start out by doing so in a loving manner. You might be doing this because you love us, but that's not the same thing. Rants like this, especially placed in the inappropriate place of Yahoo! Answers, only make our Catholic faith stronger.
HOLD UP!!!! catholic is like christians but we also believe in the saints but the saints are like a form of god but in different ways and we also believe in the vigin mary because she gave birth to god we believe in anything that is related to god
Catholic teaching is false because they based their teachings from the traditions of men and not what the Bible says. They also make us bow and pray to the statue of Mary and consider her as the mediator between God and man while in fact only Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man and He is the only way to heaven and Mary is not a God! She is an ordinary human like me and like you. She is a sinner like us!

In catholicism, Mary is considered as the Queen of Heaven. I heard this one already that this catholic belief came from the ancient Babylon. Semiramis is considered as the Queen of heaven and she has a son. Consider the painting of so called ';Mary and Jesus'; (the mother and child). There is a lie behind this! I want to see it for yourself!
It is truly laughable, though also sad, when a Protestant - a member of an unauthorized manmade tradition of thousands of conflicting denominations who can't even agree with one another on a single point of doctrinal truth - thinks he is qualified to correct the teaching of the original Christian Church, which has taught the fullness of truth in unity for 2,000 years, which has not disintegrated into denominations, and which produced the very Bible which he is currently misinterpreting. No, I am not angry. Just sorry that you are entrapped in a system that exists in open defiance of the stated will of God, ';that they all may be ONE';.
No, we Catholics dont get angry with people like you. it is sad that you did not bother to find out the answers to your questions before deciding to leave the Catholic faith. Do not be critical of any religion if you do not understand why they follow a certain belief. we catholics do not pray to the statues. they are just reminders for us to follow the example of men and women who followed the teaching of Christ. we ask those gone before us to pray for us, we do not pray to them. the sacrament of reconciliation was instuted by Jesus during the last supper. speak to a catholic priest if you are not here to criticize but to find the truth. many christians of other denomination have tried to change me in the end they had to give up cos they know that they have interpreted the Bible according to their own like. dont take the bible literally otehrwise you cant even call your own dad Father.Peace be upon you.
1) Catholics do not pray to statues.

2) Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the Last Supper.

3) Purgatory is not a necessary belief to be a Catholic. We trust in the Lord for the Salvation and disposition of the souls He has created.

4) I am not angry with you. You are simply misinformed. Peace be upon you.
